On the morning of the 22nd, another major accident occurred in China, destined to be a safety accident. This time, the accident was a landslide that buried 47 residents. The disaster site is a village in Yunnan Province in the southwestern part of the mainland.

According to reports from CCTV and other media on the 22nd, the landslide occurred at 5:51 AM in the village of Liangshui, Tangfang Town, Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. Rescue teams were dispatched immediately after the accident and are working to rescue 48 people from 18 households. In addition, over 500 residents were urgently evacuated.

Local rescue authorities have deployed over 300 personnel and around 40 fire trucks and are conducting rescue operations. However, it was reported that the rescue operations are struggling due to the cold weather, snowfall, road icing, and equipment access congestion. Therefore, it is expected that it will not be easy for the buried victims who are bound to miss the golden time of rescue to save their lives.

According to CCTV, Xi Jinping, the general secretary and president, seems to have judged that the situation was serious and ordered a comprehensive search for the missing person.
