Elon Musk Calls Sweden Tesla Strike ‘Insane’

globalautonews Views

Tesla’s operations in Sweden are grinding to a halt as a strike at the Swedish Tesla service center expands. The strike is aimed at forming a union. Elon Musk has always held a negative stance towards unions and expressed strong opposition. He used the phrase “This is Insane” on his social media account X.

Initially, the strike was not considered serious because it only involved 100 service employees in Sweden. However, the situation changed when Swedish dockworkers, electricians, and cleaning service providers joined in solidarity.

Reports state that Musk directly instructed Tesla Sweden not to sign any collective bargaining agreement with IF Metall, a union that supports Tesla workers. This reportedly led to a complete halt in negotiations.

An electric vehicle portal, Electrek, reported that a PostNord employee, who delivers license plates to the Swedish Transport Agency, refused to give Tesla’s license plates, further complicating the situation. This could potentially disrupt Tesla’s deliveries within Sweden.

The impact of Elon Musk’s strong stance remains to be seen.
