Lionel Messi, the “God of Football,” made a surprise appearance in a popular Vietnamese singer’s music video, attracting attention to the scale of his appearance fee.

According to the local media VN Express on the 6th, Messi appears for about 10 seconds in the recently released music video “From Where I Was Born” by 26-year-old singer Jack.

Rumors are circulating that Messi received a fee of 60 billion dong (about US$2.5 million) for his appearance.

However, Jack’s lawyer, Le Thanh Sinh, responded, “Some organizations and individuals are spreading false information, which constitutes defamation and damage to reputation.”

Jack, who once aspired to be a soccer player, revealed that he met Messi, whom he had admired since childhood, through an acquaintance in France.

When asked if scenes of Messi and his new music video could be inserted, Messi reportedly replied that it would be possible if it did not involve religion, politics, or commercial use.

Therefore, he explained that he included scenes of meeting Messi in the music video to inspire hope in young people.

Jack, from the southern province of Ben Tre, was born Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan and debuted as a solo artist in 2019 after being active in a group.

Messi is playing for Inter Miami, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in the United States.
