Rafael Harpaz, the Israeli ambassador in Seoul, held a closed-door briefing with People Power Party lawmakers on Tuesday at the invitation of Rep. Yu Yong-weon.
Rep. Kim Jung-jae, who heads the People Power Party’s policy committee, was among the lawmakers present at Tuesday’s briefing.
In a press statement, Yu, who arranged the meeting, emphasized the conflict’s significance for South Korea’s security, given the close relationship between Iran and North Korea.
Yu further noted that the Israel-Iran conflict has far-reaching implications beyond the Middle East, affecting the global security landscape.
The purpose of Tuesday’s briefing was to gain a deeper understanding of the evolving security dynamics and explore ways to enhance security and diplomatic cooperation between South Korea and Israel, according to Yu.
In its press release, the Israeli Embassy stated that the dialogue with Seoul lawmakers explored new avenues for strategic cooperation between the two nations.
