Global finance giant ING has tapped a veteran corporate and investment banking expert as its new country manager for South Korea, the company announced Tuesday.
Jung brings over 27 years of experience in wholesale banking at global investment banks to her new position. According to ING, she played a crucial role in expanding BNP Paribas Korea’s global corporate business. Her impressive resume also includes stints at HSBC and Mizuho Corporate Bank.
Earlier in her career, Jung cut her teeth as an investment banker at JP Morgan Securities. There, she was involved in orchestrating mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt capital market transactions across various sectors including automotive, shipbuilding, energy, and metals.
\”It’s a privilege to lead ING’s business in South Korea, a market I know intimately and one that plays a vital role in the global economy,\” Jung said. \”I’m honored to take on this role and build upon ING’s strong legacy in Korea.\”
\”I’m eager to work alongside our team to deepen client relationships, drive sustainable growth, and contribute to our continued success in the region,\” she added.
ING, headquartered in the Netherlands, has maintained a full banking license in South Korea since 1991. The company expanded its presence in 2016 by establishing a securities branch in Seoul, offering a suite of financial solutions tailored to the local market.
