BoA, often hailed as Asia’s star, is set to commemorate her quarter-century in the music industry with the release of her 11th album, “Crazier,” on August 4 at 6 p.m.
The new album boasts 11 tracks, including the title song “Crazier,” marking BoA’s first full-length release since her 2020 album “Better,” nearly five years ago.
This anniversary album carries profound significance for both the artist and her devoted fanbase. BoA burst onto the scene on August 25, 2000, at the tender age of 14 with her debut album “ID; Peace B.” She later conquered the Japanese market, becoming one of the pioneering artists to spearhead K-pop’s expansion across Asia.
The diverse album spans multiple genres, featuring everything from high-energy dance tracks to soulful ballads. It also showcases BoA’s songwriting and composition skills, talents she’s previously demonstrated in tracks like “Only One,” her eighth studio album “Kiss My Lips,” third mini-album “Forgive Me,” and the single “Emptiness.”
Initially, BoA had planned to celebrate her new album with her fifth solo concert on August 30-31 at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium. However, these plans were derailed by a recent diagnosis of acute osteonecrosis in her knee.
In a statement released Tuesday, SM Entertainment disclosed that BoA had been experiencing increased knee pain. Medical professionals advised her to avoid strenuous physical activity, including dancing. “Immediate surgery is necessary to prevent the condition from worsening,” the statement explained.
SM Entertainment added that the possibility of rescheduling the concert hinges on BoA’s post-surgery recovery.
Despite this setback, BoA’s new album release marks a significant milestone in her illustrious career, reaffirming her status as a K-pop icon who continues to evolve and inspire after 25 years in the industry.
