According to local reports including Beijing News on the 23rd (local time), the Beijing High People’s Court listed three major crime cases in its work report.

In 2023, the Beijing court strictly punished 650 cases of serious violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and serious injury according to the law.

Among these, Kris’s sexual assault case was also mentioned as a group crime case.

According to the report, Kris drank with two women at his home in July 2018 and engaged in lewd activities. Then, from November to December 2020, he sexually assaulted three women who were drunk and unable to resist at his home.

The People’s Court of Chaoyang District, Beijing, sentenced Kris to a total of 13 years in prison, including 11 years and 6 months for rape and 1 year and 10 months for group lewdness in the first trial held in November 2021.

After serving his sentence, an order was also issued to deport Kris, who is of Canadian nationality, from China.

Canada is implementing chemical castration for sex offenders.

Kris appealed against the first trial verdict, but on November 24th of last year, the Beijing No.3 Intermediate People’s Court dismissed Kris’s appeal and sentenced him to 13 years in prison as per the original verdict.

Kris, who debuted in Korea as a member of EXO in 2012, has been active as a singer and actor in China after leaving EXO in 2014.
