On November 11 (local time), President Joe Biden targeted former President Donald Trump’s “dictator” remarks. He emphasized that they could pose a threat to American democracy.

President Biden said at a political fundraising event in Philadelphia, “The other day he said he wants to be a dictator only on one day,” emphasizing, “He’s saying it out loud,” and criticized him. He continued, “He embraces political violence instead of rejecting it. We can’t let that happen.”

Analysts indicate that President Biden, currently experiencing a dip in public opinion, strategically incorporates remarks about Trump’s authoritarian tendencies into his election campaign narrative.

Previously, Trump had made dictator remarks twice on official occasions.

The first was during a pre-recorded town hall event broadcasted with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on the 5th. Responding to a question about the potential for dictatorial politics should he return to power, he answered, “People keep asking, ‘You won’t become a dictator, right?’ My answer is no, except for day one.” He elaborated on this by adding that on this hypothetical first day, his plans would include blocking the southern border with Mexico and ramping up oil drilling activities.

After this statement, concerns that dictatorship could become a reality during Trump’s reign have been heating up across various sectors.
