Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a warning that anyone who donates to his Republican primary rival, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley will be permanently excluded from his camp.

On his social media platform, Truth Social, on the 24th (local time), Trump wrote, “From this moment on, anyone who donates to Birdbrain will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp. We don’t want them, and we won’t accept them.” Trump has previously criticized Haley referring to her as a birdbrain. MAGA is an acronym for Trump’s election slogan “Make America Great Again.”

Former President Trump is solidifying his frontrunner status after winning the second Republican primary in New Hampshire on the 23rd, following a victory in Iowa. Haley maintains her stance of staying in the race until the end, saying, “It’s still a long way to go until the election is over.” She responded to Trump’s post on her X (formerly, Twitter) account by linking to her donation page and writing, “Then donate here. Let’s go.”

Despite Haley’s determination to stay in the race, the continued losses have deepened the concerns of donors who had been funding her campaign. According to the Financial Times (FT) Ken Langone, the co-founder of the U.S. retail chain Home Depot recently expressed his reluctance to “throw away money,” and Reid Hoffman the co-founder of the job search platform LinkedIn, reportedly closed his wallet after Haley’s loss in the New Hampshire primary.

The FT reported that a fundraising event for Haley’s campaign, led by supporters, is scheduled to take place next week in New York but it is uncertain how many people will attend.
