A giant panda’s body was discovered on the banks of Sichuan, China.

According to various media outlets, including China’s CCTV, on April 12, a tourist spotted and filmed what is believed to be a giant panda’s body on the banks of Baoxing County in Ya’an City, Sichuan.

The panda’s body is half-submerged and floating in the water in the released footage.

Voices in the video can be heard saying, “Look at that. It’s a giant panda,” and “It seems to have fallen from a tree and drowned.”

The person who found it informed the village committee, and the Baoxing County Forestry Bureau sent staff to the scene.

Media reports haven’t revealed the exact details yet.

The Wolong Shenshuping Base in Sichuan, China, is the current home of Fu Bao, the giant panda that captured hearts in Korea.

Following Fu Bao’s departure from Everland on April 3 to return to China, fans express their sadness and longing for the beloved panda.
