Françoise Hardy, Beloved French Chanteuse, Dies Aged 80

Iconic French singer Françoise Hardy has passed. The AFP reported that Hardy’s son Thomas Dutronc announced her passing on social media with a heartfelt childhood photo with his mother. She was 80 years old. Françoise Hardy was diagnosed with lymphoma and throat cancer in 2004 and continued to produce albums while battling her illness.

Apart from her musical career, Hardy stood out for her unique fashion sense and tall physique. She worked as a model for famous brands like Yves Saint Laurent, and her film appearances also showcased her diverse talents.

Born in 1944, Françoise Hardy debuted in 1962 at 18 years old with the single “Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles” (English: “All the Boys and Girls”).

Her 1968 release, “Comment te dire adieu” (English: It Hurts to Say Goodbye), has been featured in commercials and is a familiar song to fans in Korea.

Hardy’s 2018 release, Personne d’autre, was her final album.
