Defying Age and Disability: Sammo Hung’s Solo Adventures

TV Report Views

The unfortunate current state of veteran Hong Kong actor Sammo Hung has been revealed.

According to the Chinese media outlet China Press on May 23, photos of Hung moving around in a wheelchair were posted on social media. The outlet also shared that he was seen using crutches, implying that he was essentially living a semi-retired life.

In the released photos, Hung was traveling alone in a wheelchair that he seemed well-adjusted to. A plastic bag was hanging on the back of his wheelchair, suggesting that he may be returning home after grocery shopping.

After checking his wheelchair, Sammo Hung headed to the streets alone. Netizens praised his determination to manage independently without relying on others.

Born in 1952, Sammo Hung debuted in 1961 as he started acting at a young age and challenged various genres. He excelled in martial arts and won the Best Martial Arts Director Award at the first Golden Dragon Awards in 1971. His most recent work is the movie Man on Edge in 2022.

Sammo Hung married a Korean actress in 1973 but they later divorced in 1994. He then married former Hong Kong actress Joyce Mina Godenzi. He has three sons and one daughter. It remains to be seen whether Sammo Hung will be able to return to the screen in good health.
