President Lee Jae Myung called for a drastic overhaul of inefficient budget spending to ensure next year’s allocations effectively support the faltering economy.
\”Given the challenging economic landscape and the significant erosion of private sector fundamentals, the government must pursue proactive fiscal policies next year,\” Lee stated, acknowledging the constraints on government finances.
He directed ministries to craft an efficient, citizen-centric budget plan that could serve as a catalyst for economic recovery and growth.
The president also welcomed the decision by medical students to end their 17-month boycott of classes, which had been in protest of the previous administration’s medical reform plan.
Lee urged education officials to swiftly implement measures facilitating the students’ smooth return to their studies. He also called on relevant departments to develop and execute policies aimed at enhancing the quality of essential and regional healthcare services.
\”I hope these future medical professionals will gain a deeper understanding of their social responsibilities in safeguarding public health and human lives,\” he added.
