German confectionery company Haribo opened its first standalone store in Asia on Wednesday, tapping into the growing demand in South Korea, the region’s fourth-largest economy.
A company spokesperson revealed that South Korea has recently emerged as Haribo’s largest market in Asia, though specific sales figures were not disclosed.
The company has plans to expand its brick-and-mortar presence across the country in the coming years, the spokesperson added.
The flagship store, a first for Asia, is located at Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets in Yeoju, approximately 65 kilometers southeast of Seoul. (Yonhap)
