The team, led by special counsel Cho Eun-suk, dispatched prosecutors and investigators to Lee’s residence in Seoul’s southern Gangnam Ward. Their mission was to search for potential evidence linking Lee to the controversial martial law plan.

Lee is under scrutiny for allegedly instructing the National Fire Agency to cut power and water to several media outlets critical of the Yoon administration, including Hankyoreh, Kyunghyang Shinmun, and MBC. This order reportedly came after Yoon declared martial law on December 3.

Furthermore, Lee is suspected of orchestrating a second martial law declaration. This alleged plot was reportedly discussed during a meeting with high-ranking administration officials at a presidential safe house in Seoul, following the lifting of the initial decree. (Yonhap)
