A roughly dragged the dog by its leash towards them and swung a bamboo stick while yelling, “Sit, sit, sit!.”

Despite viewers’ pleas, “Don’t hit it,” A responded with expletives and dismissed concerns, saying, “I’ll dissect it. Why? Because the animal doesn’t listen to me.”

The pet, with its neck held by A, was visibly terrified, its eyes wide open and its body rigid. This scene was broadcast live.

During this process, A disclosed their bank account number to receive donations.

The animal protection organization reported A to the police after witnessing the incident. The responding officers separated A from the pet and are currently investigating the case.

The police who responded to the scene are investigating the case after separating A and the pet.

Under the Animal Protection Law, if an animal is injured, the offender can be sentenced to “up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won ($15,000).” If the abuse leads to the animal’s death, the punishment can be “up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million won ($22,390).”

However, in most cases of animal abuse, the punishment is a fine or probation in severe cases. Abused animals can only be temporarily separated, and if the owner does not relinquish ownership, the animal must be returned to the abuser.
