Kim Jong Un of North Korea emphasized the importance of mental fortitude, stating, “The combative specifications of armed equipment do not determine the outcome of a battle, but by the ideology that one fights for.”

The Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim visited the Air Force unit to commemorate The Day of Airmen on the 30th of last month. During his visit, Kim said, “The logic, justice, and philosophy of our party’s power is that even an egg can crack a rock if it harbors an idea.” He also lauded the Air Force pilots as ‘the party’s reliable phoenix,’ stating, “No matter how technologically superior our enemy may be, they cannot overwhelm the political-ideological superiority of our pilots.”

Kim and his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, paid a congratulatory visit to the 1st Air Force Division’s flight unit. The father-daughter duo watched a volleyball match between the Air Force and Navy teams, enjoyed a performance by the Air Force Orchestra, and attended a banquet celebrating The Day of Airmen. The banquet was also attended by Kim Yo Jong, the Deputy Director of the Workers’ Party, along with Ri Yong Gil, the Chief of the General Staff of the North Korean Armed Forces, Kim Kwang Hyuk, the Air Force Commander, and Eom Ju Ho, the Political Commissar.

Meanwhile, the United States, Japan, Australia, and South Korea have each decided to impose independent sanctions on North Korea in response to its satellite launch last month. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken conveyed that the U.S., Japan, and Australia would each designate North Korean individuals and entities related to the satellite launch as sanctions targets.
