Inside Nishino Miki’s Marriage: Coping with an Age Gap of 32 Years

Former AKB48 member Miki Nishino has opened up about the challenges of adjusting to married life with her significantly older husband.

In a video uploaded to her online channel on March 16, 24-year-old Nishino discussed her anxieties about the future.

In her video, Nishino addressed a subscriber’s question about future anxieties. She confided, “The biggest concern on my mind is Kei’s (Keiichi Yamamoto, 56) health as he ages. It can feel overwhelming at times, like caring for both him and my parents someday.”

In November 2022, Nishino wed Keiichi Yamamoto, a member of the comedy group Gokuraku Tombo. Their significant age difference of 32 years garnered considerable public interest.

Nishino further acknowledged anxieties about her husband’s age, sharing, “The possibility of Kei not being around for significant milestones, like a child’s wedding, weighs heavily on me,” she confessed. These concerns were present throughout our decision to marry, and despite careful consideration, there weren’t any easy answers.”

Despite her anxieties, Nishino expressed a resilient spirit. “Challenges are inevitable,” she stated, “but I’ve always found a way to overcome them. That’s my approach, allowing me to cherish the present moment truly.”

Nishino graduated from AKB48 following a graduation performance at the AKB Theater in March 2017.

Keiichi Yamamoto, born in 1968, came back to television in 2016 following a 10-year hiatus due to sexual misconduct with a minor in 2006.
