As the warm spring weather continues, interest in cherry blossom travel destinations is rising.
Green Car, Lotte Rental’s car-sharing brand, has selected regional cherry blossom spots based on Green Zone data that users have visited the most over the past three spring seasons. The brand also runs events to support spring travel through its app and official social media channels.
In the past three years, Gwangju, Gyeongnam, and Gyeonggi have been the regions with the highest number of car-sharing rentals during the spring season, in that order. The number of Green Zone rentals close to Seoul (Gimpo), Daejeon, Gwangju, and Jeju Airport also increased compared to other seasons. This indicates a rise in demand for combined air travel and car-sharing.
Last spring, more than 50% of all rentals were made by users over 35, an increase from the previous year.
Based on members’ vehicle rental and driving data, Green Car recommends major cherry blossom spots in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gwangju, Gyeongnam, and Daejeon. The earliest blooming region, Gyeongnam, includes Jinhae Gunhangje, Gimhae Gaya Theme Park, Jinju Wolasan Natural Recreation Forest, and Sacheon Seonjinri Fortress.
Expected to bloom from the last week of March, Gwangju and Daejeon’s recommended spots are Mudeungsan, Uchi Park, Bomo Mountain, and Daecheong Lake. For Seoul and Gyeonggi, which are expected to see full bloom in the first week of April, the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival, Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival, Anyangcheon, and Gwanggyo Lake Park have been selected.
Green Car operates an event to support a more convenient and enriching cherry blossom trip. The Cherry Blossom Spot event, held on Green Car’s official Instagram, offers Green Car discount coupons to the first 100 participants, which can be used from March 20 to April 20.
By inviting friends and participating in comments, 15 people will be selected through a draw to receive Green Car 4-hour free usage tickets for 5 and ice cream mobile coupons for 10. A discount coupon of 45% off for using Green Car for more than 6 hours can be downloaded from the Instagram profile link and used immediately in the Green Car app.
