Sitting in first class is a dream for many travelers, so all eyes were on Love Island cast member Antigoni Buxton when she shared a simple trick for securing an upgrade to first class.

Buxton shared a tip for upgrading to first class based on advice from a flight attendant friend. “If you want to get upgraded, take a box of doughnuts onto a flight for the flight staff,” she suggested.

She continued that once you’ve boarded the flight, mention that the donuts are for the crew.

“I did it once, and it worked!” she claimed, scoring her an upgrade to first class.

YouTuber Zac Allsop also demonstrated in a past video how he received an upgrade from economy to first class by giving a Starbucks gift card.

However, Kate Staniforth, the head of marketing for Travel Republic, warned against wasting money on these hacks.

“Whilst Antigoni claims this hack works, unfortunately, in the majority of cases, it doesn’t,” she said.

Although there are exceptions, the reliability is questionable, therefore she advises viewers online to arrive early and check in with the airline counter if they’re looking to upgrade to first class.
