Boy band TWS has claimed the top spot on Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking with their debut Japanese single, according to the chart released on Tuesday.
Their single “Nice to See You Again” sold an impressive 150,000 copies in its first week, setting a new record for international artists in Japan this year. The six-member group also made history as the first non-Japanese act to reach the pinnacle of the chart in 2023.
This achievement marks TWS’s second chart-topping success, following their Korean debut single “Last Bell,” which also dominated the Daily Single Ranking upon its release last week.
TWS is now preparing for their inaugural Japanese tour, set to kick off in Hiroshima on July 11. The band will perform a total of 13 shows across six cities throughout the country. However, member Youngjae will have limited participation in the performances due to a recent toe injury.
