High-Rise Fire in South Korea Leaves Three in Cardiac Arrest

(Yonhap)]Three people were rushed to hospitals in cardiac arrest after a fire broke out at a high-rise apartment complex in Gwangmyeong, a suburb just south of Seoul, on Thursday evening, authorities reported.

At least 20 others sustained serious injuries, including severe burns and smoke inhalation, while an additional 42 people suffered minor injuries.

The blaze erupted around 9:05 p.m. in the parking facility of the apartment complex. Firefighters battled the flames and successfully extinguished the fire by 10:32 p.m.

Law enforcement officials have announced plans to launch a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire. (Yonhap and associated news reports)
