Volkswagen’s ID.4 Secures IRS Tax Deduction in the United States

Volkswagen has announced that all models of the ID.4 will be eligible for the IRA tax deduction in the United States by 2024. The ID.4, which includes components from the SK On battery produced in the United States, can receive a federal tax deduction of $7,500. The ID.4 is equipped with a battery manufactured at the SK Battery America factory in Georgia.

The battery capacity is 62kWh, and the estimated EPA mileage is 209 miles (336 km). The starting price is $38,995, so after applying the tax deduction, it becomes $31,495. However, the RWD ID.4 equipped with the 82kWh battery from LG Chemicals, which includes the Pro Pack, is not eligible for the tax deduction.
