Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis Dominate 2024 Best Car Awards

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 8th(Thursday) that three of its models, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Genesis GV70 EV, and Kia Telluride, were awarded at the “2024 Best Car Awards” announced by the influential U.S. car review website “cars.com.”

The 2024 Best Car Awards are determined by the editors of cars.com, who evaluate the quality, innovativeness, and value of newly released 2024 models to select winners in six categories: “Best of the Year,” “Best Electric Vehicle,” “Best Luxury Car,” “Best Family Car,” “Best SUV,” and “Best Pickup Truck.”

Hyundai Motor Group gained recognition for its outstanding product competitiveness by winning three categories above.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was selected as the Best Electric Vehicle for the second year, proving its excellent product quality.

Jenni Newman, editor-in-chief of cars.com, said, “It’s only natural that the Ioniq 5 was selected for the second consecutive year,” and evaluated it as a balanced electric vehicle in terms of fast charging, diverse and user-friendly tech specs, and innovative design.

The GV70 EV was recognized as a luxury electric vehicle with an elegant exterior, well-organized interior, and impressive driving performance, winning the Best Luxury Car category. This allowed Genesis to be marked in the Best Luxury Car award for the second consecutive year, followed by last year’s G90.

The GV70 EV, which has been produced in the Alabama factory in the U.S. for selling since last year, received high praise in the U.S. luxury car market, winning the “Luxury Electric SUV” of the “2024 Editors’ Choice Awards” announced by the influential U.S. car magazine “Car and Driver” earlier this month.

The Kia Telluride was selected as the Best Family Car for the second consecutive year since 2022. Cars.com praised the Telluride as an ideal family car with ample interior space based on three rows and comprehensive safety specifications.

In this category, Kia has won three consecutive years, including last year’s Carnival, strengthening its position as a manufacturer of family cars, offering ample space and various convenience specifications that consider passengers.

A representative from Hyundai Motor Group said, “We will continue to do our best to provide products that can impress customers with high quality and safety.”
