Le Parisien in France announced that they evaluated the performances of famous singers held at Stade de France and Paris La Défense Arena from May to the end of last month.

Before announcing the evaluation results, Le Parisien emphasized that it is a highly subjective ranking, which will make some people happy, jealous, or unhappy.

The worst performance selected by Le Parisien was BLACKPINK’s encore performance in July.

Previously, BLACKPINK held the encore performance of their world tour concert BORN PINK at Stade de France in France on July 15. The show attracted 55,000 spectators and enjoyed great popularity.

Le Parisien explained the reason for selecting BLACKPINK’s performance as the worst, stating, “Having a crowd at Stade de France does not mean that the performance was on par with it. The conclusion drawn after leaving BLACKPINK’s concert, which sparked the K-pop craze in Korea, is that the choreography was too textbook-like, and there was a lack of communication among the members, often passing each other by.”

They also criticized, “At the end of the performance, BLACKPINK member Jennie left the stage for no reason, and the remaining members called out to the audience holding specific placards. This was an absurd situation that did not live up to the popularity of young Koreans.”

According to a report by Yonhap News on the 3rd, at that time, Jennie left the stage after leaving a message to the fans saying, “I’ll be back,” and returned to the stage three minutes later wearing white pants instead of black ones.

On the other hand, the best performance selected by Le Parisien was the concert of Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd held at Stade de France in July.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has been nominated in six categories at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), a major music awards ceremony in the United States.

BLACKPINK has been nominated for “Best Editing,” “Best Art Direction,” “Best Choreography,” “Best K-pop,” “Group of the Year,” and “Show of the Summer.”

This year’s VMA will be held on the 12th in Prudential Center, New Jersey, USA.
