A Haunting in Venice is a story of detective Hercule Poirot, who retired and lived in Venice after World War II, deducing the truth behind a sudden murder case that occurred after attending a gathering that accidentally summoned a soul into reality.
The movie is the latest work by Kenneth Branagh, who previously presented Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. These works were based on the best-selling novels by the master of detective novels, Agatha Christie.
Agatha Christie’s original work “Halloween Party” is featured in this movie. Like the previous film, director Kenneth Branagh took on the directing role and the protagonist, Detective Hercule Poirot.
In addition, actors such as Michelle Yeoh, who won the Best Actress award at the 95th Academy Awards for Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Jamie Dornan and Jude Hill from Belfast add richness to the story. The new characters create a suspenseful and mysterious atmosphere throughout the runtime, offering a different charm from the previous works.
