Singer Chungha has become a hot topic for revealing why she earned a certification in Korean history.

On the 11th, Chungha appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show.”

When Park Myung Soo mentioned her Korean history certification, Chungha explained, “It was the first time I had no work during my break. I earned the certification because I felt anxious.”

Chungha also surprised everyone by saying, “I never met my grandfather because he passed away before I was born. My grandfather was an independence activist who participated in the Korean War and the Gwangju Movement.”

She continued, “I wanted to understand the flow of history my grandfather walked through.” She also said, “I studied for the Korean History Certification with the help of teacher Choi Tae Sung.”

Park Myung Soo said, “Celebrities sometimes say absurd things in history-related quizzes. They need to study in advance.”

Meanwhile, Chungha, born in 1996 and now 28 years old, attracted a lot of attention for her excellent dance skills when she participated in Mnet’s survival program, “Produce 101.”

She gained popularity after finishing fourth in Produce 101 and debuted as a member of the girl group I.O.I in May 2016.

After her activities with I.O.I until January 2017, she made her official debut as a solo artist in June 2017 and has been consistently active since.
