Shiori Kubo’s Social Media
Nogizaka46 idol Shiori Kubo shared a surprising fact: when she moved to Tokyo, she made a clean slate by deleting all her old friends’ contact information.
Shiori Kubo took listeners down memory lane while appearing on Nogizaka46’s “All Night Nippon” radio show on March 27. She candidly shared her initial emotions upon relocating to Tokyo.
Responding to a listener’s message, Kubo reminisced about joining the idol group in her 9th-grade year and relocating to Tokyo around the time she started high school. “Eight years in the city, and the thrill of being in Tokyo is still incredible!” she exclaimed, conveying her enduring love for the capital. Kubo also acknowledged the life-altering significance of her decision to move there.
Regarding her determination when moving, Kubo surprised everyone by saying, “Honestly, I could go back home if I wanted to. But I was very determined. In my case… I deleted all of my friends’ contact numbers at once.”
She confessed that she moved to the city with a strong will to succeed. Even eight years after moving, Kubo admitted that she sometimes feels shaken, and in those moments, she looks at the album made by her friends from her hometown.
Drawing from her experience, Kubo encouraged listeners to contemplate a similar move. “It can be tough,” she acknowledged, “but hold on tight and approach it with a determined heart!” She further emphasized the importance of feeling comfortable, reassuring them, “Remember, there’s always the option to return home if needed.”
Kubo explained that while she needs to be in Tokyo for work, she loves her hometown very much. She revealed that she would visit her hometown in Miyagi Prefecture if she got a day off.
Born in 2001, Shiori Kubo debuted as a third-generation member of the idol group Nogizaka46 in 2017.
