Actor Gavin Teo has shared the screen with Xiang Yun, the mother of his ex-girlfriend, Chen Yi Xin, in a drama.
According to an interview with the foreign media outlet 8days on April 14, Malaysian actor Gavin Teo responded to the question “How have you been after the breakup?” by saying, “I haven’t had much time to think because I’ve been busy shooting every day. It’s been like that for the past few months.”
Gavin Teo officially announced his breakup with Singaporean actress Chen Yi Xin in February after five years of dating. However, the two seemed to maintain a friendly relationship after separating. According to a close source to Chen Yi Xin, the two still check on each other through text messages.
Gavin Teo mainly had to act opposite Xiang Yun, who plays a psychologist and the mother of Chen Yi Xin in the drama Undesirable Crimes. In the film, he portrays an ill cop. In the interview, he said he was worried about being awkward with Xiang Yun on set, but it turned out to be an unnecessary concern.
Gavin Teo confessed, “In the end, it wasn’t awkward. We’ve known each other for a long time,” referring to Chen Yi Xin’s parents, Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen, as his Singaporean parents.
Xiang Yun also agreed with this. She said, “I’ve always liked Gavin. He’s like a son to me. We’re both adults, so I don’t want to overstate things,” referring to the past.
Chen Yi Xin announced her breakup with Gavin Teo through social media in February. She said, “I never thought I would write such a post. After much consideration and deep respect for each other, Gavin and I decided to go our separate ways.”
