Known for her kind heart, BLACKPINK’s Jennie expressed her appreciation to her good friend and singer Zico for their recent success, which stemmed from their collaboration on Zico’s digital single SPOT!
On May 12th, Jennie posted a photo with Zico on social media. She wrote, “Thank you for loving ‘SPOT!’ so much. I’m also grateful to Zico for creating such great music.” Zico responded, “I’m more thankful. Jennie is the best,” expressing his gratitude with a burning heart emoticon.
“SPOT!” is a track that evokes a late-night party atmosphere, blending Zico’s sophisticated rap with Jennie’s unique vocal color. Their collaboration garnered much attention, and the song topped various music charts after its release on April 26th. As of 6 PM on May 12th, it was still going strong on the charts, ranking #1 on Melon, Korea’s largest music platform.
Zico also won first place on the South Korean music program SBS Inkigayo! aired on May 12th with “SPOT!” even without appearing on the show. Although he couldn’t participate in person, the boy group Boy Next Door, which he produced, accepted the award on his behalf, showing their warm friendship. Boy Next Door expressed their respect, saying, “Congratulations, Producer Zico.”
Meanwhile, Jennie renewed her contract for BLACKPINK group activities last December with YG Entertainment, with whom she has been for a long time. However, she did not sign a contract for individual activities.
Since parting ways with her group, Jennie has been making moves on her own, launching her agency, Odd Atelier (OA).
