Seeking Mr. Right: Japanese Idol Uses Social Media to Find a Husband!

TV Report Views

Natsupi Natsu, a member of the group Gakureki No Boryoku who graduated from the prestigious University of Tokyo, is going viral for publicly seeking a husband through social media.

On May 13th, Natsu took to X (formerly Twitter) to search for a marriage partner.

“I am re-opening the search for my marriage partner,” Natsu announced. “Those interested can apply using this form. We will start as friends,” she wrote, sharing a link to a Google form. Upon accessing the link, applicants can fill out their name, age, physique, and academic background.

Natsu revealed her qualifications and what she wants in a marriage partner. “I’m in my late 20s, 5’2″ tall, a corporate employee and idol, and a graduate of the University of Tokyo’s graduate school. My salary is modest, but I’ve saved a lot,” she said, introducing herself. “My hobbies include beauty, investing, watching idols and dogs, and I’m fun and understanding,” she added.

Natsu then revealed her desired qualifications for a marriage partner: “A man between 20 and 35 years old, at least 5’6″ tall, with an income of over 5 million yen (about $32,000), and an academic background of MARCH or higher.” MARCH is an acronym for Japan’s prestigious universities, including Meiji University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Rikkyo University, Chuo University, and Hosei University. It seems that Natsu values higher education more than appearance and financial status.

This isn’t the first time Natsu has publicly sought a marriage partner. She did the same last year through social media. Regarding this, Natsu said, “300 people participated in the application process over a week half a year ago, but unfortunately, I didn’t connect with anyone. I want to get married, so I’m re-opening the search.” She explained why she’s looking for a marriage partner again this year.

Natsupi Natsu is a talented individual who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tokyo.

Since graduating from the university’s graduate school, she has been juggling her life as a corporate employee and an idol.
