Former K-Pop Group’s Website Turns Into Adult Service: Fans Outraged

Source Music

Fans are outraged after the official Japanese website of the now-disbanded girl group GFriend transformed into a website that promotes adult services.

GFriend’s former agency, Source Music, appears to have transferred ownership of the website after revealing the address of their Japanese website in May 2021. As a result, users are redirected to a website that advertises pornographic services.

Fans are angry over the website handover, feeling that the website’s address is still associated with GFriend.

“They ended their contract and disbanded, and now handed over their website to a porn site?” One fan questioned. Many fans expressed their discomfort seeing GFriend associated with an adult website, sharing that the company should have at least prevented the website from being handed over to something explicit and even going far as to express that the website should be reported to the police. Although GFriend officially disbanded in May 2021, there are still fans who are outraged by the website’s redirection, stating they still have fond memories tied to GFriend’s official website and social media.

Several fans wrote, “I opened the website to revisit my favorite celebrity, but is this real that I’m getting redirected to a porn site?” voicing their frustrations.
