Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, recently surprised fans with a special update on his life during military service.
V appeared surprisedly on Sunday in the KakaoTalk open chat room Angodokbang, where he greeted fans. He explained, “I joined this chat because the passwords for the other rooms were too hard to guess. How has everyone been?”
At first, many fans were unsure if it was really V. To confirm his identity, V shared a selfie in his military uniform and left a message saying, “I need to go for evening roll call now. I’ll visit again next time. Thanks for all your hard work today.” Fans were thrilled by his effort to stay connected despite his military duties.
V enlisted in the Army as an active-duty soldier last December alongside RM (real name Kim Nam Joon). During his enlistment, he expressed his excitement on a Weverse live broadcast, saying, “I’m really excited. Sometimes, we need to be apart to appreciate how much we mean to each other when we come back together. I’ll return healthy, strong, and in good spirits.”
He also shared a photo of himself with a shaved head, saying, “Wearing sunglasses with a shaved head was a dream of mine. I’ve always wanted to try it, and now I finally have.” His usual cheerful demeanor helped ease fans’ concerns.
While serving in the military, V constantly updates fans and shows affection for them. His recent surprise interaction has generated significant buzz, heightening anticipation for his activities after discharge. V is set to complete his service on June 10, 2025.
