The pivotal day referenced by NewJeans is approaching. September 25, mentioned during a recent live broadcast, is near, but HYBE has yet to comment. Attempts to reach out to HYBE for information on the status of Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, as well as communication with NewJeans members and any potential statements regarding the upcoming date, have gone unanswered throughout the day.

NewJeans launched its channel nwjns on the 11th and hosted a live broadcast titled “What NewJeans Wants to Say.”

During the broadcast, the members shared their experiences of unfair treatment from their agency. Member Hani revealed, “A manager from HYBE told me to ‘ignore’ while in front of another group, ensuring I could hear it. Even now, I can’t understand why I had to go through that.”

They expressed their desire for the original ADOR, where Min Hee Jin was in charge and management and production were integrated. They hoped for a wise decision to restore ADOR to its original state by September 25. The live video was deleted just three hours after it was posted, and the account was also closed.

The day after the live broadcast, on the 12th, newly appointed CEO Lee Jae Sang addressed the situation during HYBE’s emergency shareholder meeting and board of directors meeting, stating, “We will respond according to our principles.” Since then, HYBE has remained silent, allowing time to pass without issuing any official statement.

Since the live broadcast, NewJeans has not had any official schedules. However, amidst these challenges, they have not forgotten their fans. On the 17th, celebrating the Chuseok holiday, NewJeans released a greeting video for 2024 on its official channel. In the video, the members wore elegantly styled hanbok in calm colors, showcasing their graceful presence.

Amid ongoing tensions between HYBE and NewJeans, industry insiders believe that ADOR and its parent company, HYBE, are unlikely to meet the members’ demands. However, some speculate that a compromise may be proposed to improve relations with the members.

In the midst of this, on the 13th, the Makol Consulting Group, representing former CEO Min Hee Jin, announced, “We have filed for a provisional injunction with the Seoul Central District Court to convene an emergency shareholders’ meeting for ADOR and to reappoint the company’s internal directors.” Min Hee Jin is actively seeking to reclaim her position and has expressed her grievances over her dismissal.

On August 27, CEO Min Hee Jin was dismissed, and Kim Joo Young was appointed as the new CEO. In response, Min Hee Jin protested her “unilateral dismissal,” while the members of NewJeans voiced their frustrations in support of her. Industry attention is now focused on how HYBE and ADOR will respond regarding Min Hee Jin and whether their actions will satisfy NewJeans and its fans.
