EXID’s Hani has postponed her marriage to psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong, who has faced scrutiny following a patient’s death, but she is set to resume her public activities after a two-month break. According to a report by OSEN, Hani will join her EXID bandmates at the BIG GROUND FEST 2024 on November 16 at the Beach City International Stadium in northern Indonesia. This event has generated significant interest, marking Hani’s official return to the spotlight.

Hani had previously taken a step back from public life due to the growing scrutiny over her relationship with Yang Jae Woong, which had come under fire after the tragic incident at his hospital. The couple, who have been publicly dating since 2022, had planned to marry in September. However, the unfortunate death of a patient under Yang’s care shifted public sentiment, leading Hani to postpone the wedding.

In May, a tragic incident occurred at a hospital run by Yang Jae Woong when a 30-year-old woman was admitted for treatment of diet pill addiction and passed away after 17 days. This incident resurfaced in public discussions two months after her death. The woman’s family has filed a criminal complaint against the medical staff for negligent homicide and has also submitted a petition to the National Human Rights Commission. Police have launched an investigation, charging the hospital’s chief director and staff with violations of medical laws.

The fallout has also impacted Hani. Critics have suggested she must have been aware of Jae Woong’s wedding announcement just four days after the tragic incident. Although Hani has not publicly commented on the matter, she remained silent on the 12th anniversary of EXID’s debut and withdrew from a scheduled appearance on JTBC4’s Review 4 Cut.

Given these circumstances, Hani and Yang Jae Woong decided to delay their wedding. His representatives have confirmed, “It is true that the wedding originally planned for September has been postponed.” Meanwhile, Jae Woong is expected to appear as a witness at the National Assembly’s Health and Welfare Committee’s audit on October 23.
