In a recent episode of the tvN show You Quiz on the Block, titled “I’m the Best,” fans were treated to the full reunion of the iconic K-pop group 2NE1. The episode aired on Wednesday, drawing significant attention from the entertainment world.

2NE1, celebrated as trailblazers in their genre, unexpectedly halted their activities after performing at the 2015 MAMA Awards.

Reflecting on their debut, host Yoo Jae Suk asked the members about the immense pressure they faced, saying, “There were many discussions about you being the female Big Bang. What conversations did you have during your trainee days with such high expectations?” Sandara Park responded, “Everyone was incredibly passionate. Minzy was still in middle school but often stayed out until 2 or 3 AM.” Park Bom added, “I practiced my vocals so much that I could sing naturally, even during dance rehearsals.” Yoo Jae Suk praised, “2NE1 was truly groundbreaking!”

He then asked how they reunited as a complete group, considering the challenges of coordinating members from different agencies. CL agreed, stating, “Just four months ago, we were technically a disbanded group.” The members expressed that their strong desire to reunite made it possible, culminating in a successful full-group concert after a decade, thrilling their fans.

In another highlight, the episode preview showcased Big Bang’s G-Dragon (GD) making a much-anticipated appearance on a variety show for the first time in 12 years.

G-Dragon is reportedly visiting You Quiz on the Block before releasing his new song, marking his return after a seven-year hiatus. Upon his arrival, Yoo Jae Suk humorously mimicked G-Dragon’

s signature style, exclaiming, “I’m so glad to see you!” This light-hearted moment brought laughter to the set. G-Dragon, clasping his hands in greeting, looked surprised and remarked, “Why am I doing this?” capturing everyone’s attention.

G-Dragon surprised viewers by premiering his new song on the show. Yoo Jae Suk expressed a bit of disappointment, saying, “Why do you only share this much?” He also asked about the secrets behind G-Dragon’s hit tracks. G-Dragon candidly replied, “It was during my breakup,” adding, “I would sit down and then get up, and the song would just come to me,” leaving everyone astonished.

G-Dragon debuted with Big Bang in 2006, producing hits like “Lies.” After his contract with YG Entertainment ended, he joined Galaxy Corporation in 2023.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Rosé is gaining international acclaim with her solo track “APT,” featuring Bruno Mars. The drinking game that inspired the song is also trending. Rosé contributed to writing and composing several album tracks, raising fan anticipation.

BLACKPINK has renewed its contract with YG Entertainment exclusively for group activities while each member is exploring new agencies for their solo careers. Rosé has signed with The Black Label.

In 2021, G-Dragon was rumored to be dating fellow K-pop star Jennie. Reports indicated that the two were spotted together at a penthouse in Hannam-dong. However, breakup rumors surfaced in May 2022 when it was revealed that Jennie had unfollowed G-Dragon on social media.
