Joo Hyun Young Hyun Young recently opened up about feeling uncomfortable with the overwhelming attention she received after debuting a dramatic new short haircut.

On Sunday’s episode of the popular South Korean variety show Running Man, Joo Hyun Young made a guest appearance and participated in the “Trust Decision” challenge alongside the regular cast members.

During the episode, Joo Hyun Young, who had undergone a chic transformation with a sleek bob cut, was playfully asked by cast member Ji Suk Jin, “Why did you cut your hair like that?” This comment sparked laughter from the rest of the cast, setting the tone for a humorous segment.

Unlike Ji Suk Jin, fellow cast member Yang Se Chan repeatedly complimented Joo Hyun Young, saying, “You look beautiful,” a total of 17 times. Joo Hyun Young, interpreting this as teasing, responded with a simple “Thank you,” which only made the Running Man cast laugh harder.

Since leaving SNL Korea, Joo Hyun Young has shifted gears to pursue more serious acting roles. During the episode, she shared some exciting news with fans, revealing that she has three films scheduled for release next year, though they’ve all been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Her rising star power in the entertainment industry is clear, with many eager to see her next big project.

The playful teasing didn’t stop there. Cast members Haha and Kim Jong Kook jokingly asked, “What kind of role requires a hairstyle like that?” and humorously added, “You’re giving off those high-society, Cheongdam-dong daughter-in-law vibes.” (Cheongdam-dong is an affluent district in Seoul known for its wealthy residents and upscale lifestyle.) Joo Hyun Young kept a calm demeanor, clearly trying to hold back her frustration.

Yoo Jae Suk, the show’s main host, eventually had to intervene to steer the conversation away from Joo Hyun Young’s hair, saying, “Alright, no more talk about her hair!” However, Ji Suk Jin couldn’t resist one last remark, saying, “Well, you could always just add the hair back in. If it really looked that bad, we wouldn’t even mention it, would we?” His cheeky comment had the whole cast in stitches.

Interestingly, Joo Hyun Young Hyun-young wasn’t the only one targeted for her hair that day. Song Ji Hyo’s voluminous perm also became the subject of playful jabs. Yoo Jae Suk jokingly compared her look to that of WWE’s The Undertaker, known for his distinctive, dramatic appearance.

Ji Suk Jin took it a step further, teasing Song Ji Hyo by asking, “Did you even go to the salon?” When Song Ji Hyo insisted she had, Ji responded, “Well, if that was the style you were going for, why even bother with the salon?” The playful banter kept the atmosphere light and fun, showing the cast’s natural camaraderie.
