BTS member Jin has made an impressive debut with his new solo album Happy, surpassing the first-week sales of his previous release in just one day.

According to sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, Jin’s solo album Happy sold 845,690 copies on its first day (Friday), instantly claiming the top spot on the daily album chart. This figure far exceeds the first-week sales of his 2022 solo single “The Astronaut,” which sold 770,126 copies, proving that Jin’s popularity continues to soar.

Jin also dominated the iTunes charts; as of Saturday, Happy reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 48 countries and regions, including Japan, Mexico, and Ecuador. The title track, “Running Wild,” topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 70 countries and regions, including Australia, Finland, and Brazil. In addition, all the tracks on the album—including “I’ll Be There,” “Another Level,” “Falling,” “Heart on the Window (with Wendy),” and “Longing”—landed in the top ranks of iTunes’ Top Songs charts worldwide.

On Saturday, Jin kicked off the promotional activities for Happy with a fan showcase at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. The two-day event (Saturday and Sunday) celebrated the album’s release and gave Jin the opportunity to connect with his fans, known as ARMY. The showcase featured special performances designed specifically for ARMY, further solidifying the strong bond between Jin and his fanbase.

Jin took on dual roles during the event—both as a performer and the main host—moving seamlessly between the stage and engaging with the audience. The set design incorporated objects featured in the concept photos and music videos from the album, deepening the connection to Happy. During the showcase, Jin also premiered live performances of all the tracks from the album, including the title track “Running Wild.”

Meanwhile, Happy represents Jin’s personal journey to find happiness. Through this release, he openly expresses emotions tied to happiness, such as love, excitement, and courage, positioning himself as a “Ray of Sunshine.” Jin hopes that anyone who listens to the album will feel the happiness and positive energy he poured into this project.
