Lovelyz’s Jiae recently revealed her unique drinking habit of mixing soju with chocolate milk. On Monday, the online channel DNE Comment uploaded a new episode of their series Hey, Come Here, titled “Idol Lovelyz Drinks 5 Bottles of Soju | EP.8 Lovelyz | Hey, Come Here.”
The video features Lovelyz members Jiae and Yein, who are back after a four-year hiatus, engaging in a lively conversation with Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk. During the discussion, the topic of alcohol consumption came up, and Jiae was asked if she drinks often. She replied, “I drink a lot at Yein’s place. We mainly enjoy whiskey.”
Eunhyuk then joked, “Donghae can’t handle alcohol at all, but I’m quite good at it.” Donghae shared a funny story from a recent get-together: “Our manager invited us over for the first time, and he made a cocktail named after me. After trying it, I could barely walk.” Eunhyuk added, “No joke, he had just a small amount—barely enough to melt the ice—and started stumbling before collapsing on the couch.” When the production team pointed out that the drink was only 5% alcohol, Donghae responded, “Whether it’s 5%, 2%, or 1%, once it’s in my system, life becomes a struggle,” emphasizing his low alcohol tolerance.
Jiae and Yein also revealed that their drinking habits match up, with Jiae saying, “We can finish a bottle of whiskey between us. But we can’t handle soju well.” Donghae then asked, “I heard Jiae mixes chocolate milk with soju?” Jiae explained, “Since I can’t drink soju straight, I mix it 1:1 with chocolate milk. It tastes amazing and prevents hangovers. I can drink about five bottles this way.” When asked about her earlier comment on being unable to drink soju, Jiae laughed and clarified, “I just can’t drink soju by itself.”
Jiae also recommended a drink to Donghae, who is known for not being able to handle alcohol: “If you mix tomato juice with beer in equal parts, it tastes like sparkling tomato juice.”
