The late actor Song Jae Rim’s final project is set to hit theaters soon. Fall: A Man Whose Business Failed (literal translation), a gripping crime drama, has confirmed its release date for January 15, 2025, and has unveiled its teaser poster.

Fall is inspired by the real-life story of a massive cryptocurrency crash that shook the global financial markets, leading to an estimated 50 trillion won (around $34.8 billion) in losses. The film follows the journey of a young entrepreneur who makes irreversible decisions, shedding light on the dark side of startup investments and the reality of a generation caught in the cycle of day trading stocks and speculative crypto gambling.

Due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter, which involves numerous victims and an ongoing legal investigation, the filmmakers conducted thorough research. They consulted legal experts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Song Jae Rim plays a key role as a cryptocurrency developer known as MOMMY, portraying Yang Do Hyun, a self-proclaimed business genius whose decisions lead to catastrophic consequences.

Director Hyun Hae Ri, whose previous work, Nine Times Fired, earned praise at the Cannes International Series Festival, is at the helm of the film. With a background in producing hard-hitting investigative reports, Hyun brings a unique edge to Fall: A Man Whose Business Failed, aiming to tell the story with stark realism while adding elements of dark comedy.

The star-studded cast also includes Ahn Woo Yeon, known for his roles in Don’t Dare to Dream, Strong Girl Bong Soon, and Age of Youth 2; Min Sung Wook, from Three Bold Siblings and Big Bet; So Hee Jung, from Miraculous Brothers and Kairos; and Cha Jung Won, recognized for her roles in Horror Stories, Lawless Lawyer, and She Was Pretty.
