북한, 경의선 육로에 지뢰 매설…GP 콘크리트 복원
Last year, on November 24, surveillance captured a North Korean guard post (GP) on the eastern front line—a photo provided by the Ministry of Defense.

The military has confirmed North Korea to have constructed a concrete guard post (GP) about two months after declaring the complete abolition of the September 19 inter-Korean military agreement and embarking on the restoration of the front-line GP.

A military source revealed on the 5th, “North Korea has been identified to have built a concrete GP on the destroyed GP.”

Immediately after declaring the complete abolition of the September 19 military agreement in late November last year, North Korea began restoring the Guard Post (GP), previously destroyed under the agreement. Our military authorities then announced that the North Korean military had built a wooden guard post in the GP and deployed troops and equipment.

This is the first time that our military’s reconnaissance assets have identified the construction of a concrete GP.

Experts interpret the construction of a concrete Guard Post (GP) as a sign that North Korea intends to resume full-scale operations of the previously destroyed GP in the future.

Additionally, our military’s surveillance captured the North Korean military laying mines on the Gyeongui Line road, a symbol of inter-Korean exchange and cooperation.

The military authorities interpret the act of laying mines on the Gyeongui Line road as a sign that North Korea intends to stop using and block the road in the future.
