Beauty guru Calary Girl sold $126,000 in stocks to fulfill a fan promise after hosting a subscriber event.

On March 25, Calary Girl posted a video to her YouTube channel titled “I’m giving you 150 million won!”

Through this video, Calary Girl introduced the new product of her cosmetics brand, Mechai.

Calary Girl said, “About a month before this video was posted, I posted on the Calary Girl channel’s YouTube community saying ‘I’m conducting a survey. Those who participate will receive a Starbucks gift card!'”

She continued, “Since this was our first consumer survey at Mechai, we planned to receive 100 surveys. But how do you cut off at 100 when conducting a survey? It has to be done manually.”

Calary Girl said, “We had to manually cut off after about 100 people filled out the survey. The survey, which we intended to keep open for a few hours, ended up staying up for about two days. Initially, the budget for the gift cards was about $840, but when tens of thousands of people participated, we calculated that the gift card amount alone came to about $109,000 to $126,000.”

She added, “The important thing is that there’s no money, no investment, and I haven’t incurred any debt. I run the company independently, so I wondered what to do.”

Faced with keeping a promise to her subscribers, Calary Girl opted for a quick solution. Though initially considering pulling from her house deposit, a lengthy process, she chose to sell off her forgotten stock portfolio. Fortunately, the investment had a 45% return, allowing her to fulfill her pledge without losing money. “Time is of the essence,” she explained, “so I’m going to clear out my stock balance now.”

Calary Girl stated, “I have around $118,000 after selling my stocks. To show my appreciation, I’m distributing this amount as Starbucks coupons to everyone who participated in the recent survey. Remember, over 300,000 of you took the time to participate! Just a friendly reminder, these gift cards won’t be refunded and expire after the date printed on them, so be sure to enjoy them!”

Calary Girl’s decision sparked a wave of positive comments online. Fans were impressed, with some remarking, “Wow, selling NVIDIA stock? That’s a big commitment to make for coupons!” Others expressed their appreciation: “Honestly, explaining the situation would have been enough, but this is incredible!” Many praised her sense of responsibility, such as “This shows great responsibility” and “She’s the definition of a responsible adult!”
