A woman who gave up on her medical degree to become an electrician is gaining notoriety for earning over $200,000 a year from content creation.

Business Insider recently shared the story of 27-year-old Lexis Czumak-Abreu from New York.

Lexis originally dreamed of becoming a surgeon. She worked in a hospital during her internship but felt the environment didn’t suit her personality.

Eventually, Lexis gave up her medical degree, switched careers to become an electrician, and began sharing her experiences through social media.

Lexis shared videos on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram demonstrating how to use tools at construction sites to install electrical outlets and repair basement electrical wiring.

Since then, Lexis has accumulated roughly 2.2 million followers and reportedly earns around $200,000 through influencer activities.

“I work in different places every day, unlike office workers who always work in the same place,” Lexis remarked. “I get to experience something new and meet new people every day.”

Lexis reportedly has no intention of leaving her day job despite earning a significant income as an influencer.
