Cross-cultural single ‘Fighting’ delivers message of hope, unity, marking Mongdoll’s first step onto global stage
Set to drop on July 23 at 6 p.m. across major streaming platforms, “Fighting” marks a groundbreaking moment as the first official collaboration between Korean and Indian rock bands.
Despite their diverse cultural backgrounds, Mongdoll and Trance Effect have united to craft a cross-border anthem of positivity and solidarity. “Fighting” promises to be a sonic powerhouse, blending upbeat melodies with dynamic instrumentation to inject listeners with a much-needed dose of energy and hope.
In an exclusive statement to Variety, Mongdoll shared their excitement through their agency, MY Music: “We’re absolutely stoked to be bridging Korea and India through our music. This collaboration isn’t just a single – it’s our launchpad onto the global stage.”
Since their formation in August 2021, the five-piece Mongdoll has been turning heads in Korea’s indie scene with their lyrical, refreshing sound and impressive showings at various music competitions.
Their recent single “Yes Man,” released in June after an 11-month hiatus, has already garnered praise for its empathetic message and comforting vibes.
Industry insiders are buzzing about how this collaboration with Trance Effect could catapult Mongdoll onto the international music scene.
Trance Effect, known for their genre-defying blend of pop, rock, and electronica, have already made a name for themselves in India. The band’s headline performances at the prestigious Hornbill Festival for two consecutive years have solidified their status as one of India’s most exciting musical acts.
