A special counsel team on Thursday raided the home of former Interior Minister Lee Sang-min as part of its investigation into former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s attempt to impose martial law, legal sources said.
Lee is under scrutiny for allegedly instructing the National Fire Agency to cut power and water to several media outlets critical of the Yoon administration, including Hankyoreh, Kyunghyang Shinmun, and MBC. This order reportedly came after Yoon declared martial law on December 3.
Furthermore, Lee is suspected of orchestrating a second martial law declaration. This alleged plot was reportedly discussed during a meeting with high-ranking administration officials at a presidential safe house in Seoul, following the lifting of the initial decree. (Yonhap)
