Nexon announced on Tuesday that it will host “Maple Con 2025,” a global festival celebrating its hit game MapleStory, in Taiwan this August and in the United States this October.
The event debuted in December 2024 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (Kintex) in Ilsan, just outside Seoul, drawing 10,000 visitors over three days. This year, Nexon is taking the event international to commemorate MapleStory’s 20th anniversary of service in both Taiwan and the U.S.
With approximately 150 million registered users outside of Korea, MapleStory has achieved remarkable global popularity. Nexon aims to leverage this event to further expand its international fan base and cement MapleStory’s position as a leading global intellectual property.
Scheduled for August 2-3, Maple Con 2025 Taipei will feature official merchandise stores, Maple Island-themed installations, photo booths, a stage program encouraging fan participation, and a marketplace for fan-created works. In a nod to the game’s beloved mascot, the event will attempt to set a Guinness World Record by forming the “world’s largest human Orange Mushroom” with more than 2,000 participants.
Maple Con Los Angeles 2025, set for late October, will offer special attractions and activities to celebrate the game’s two-decade legacy in North America.
