Chinese Influencer Takes Advantage of Supermarket Food Samples with His Own Rice

Controversy has erupted over the actions of a Chinese influencer who brought his own rice bowl to free sample booths in a supermarket and indulged in food samples.

The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on this peculiar incident involving an influencer from Guangdong, China.

A recent video circulating on social media captured him touring supermarket free sample booths while carrying a container of rice. The supermarket in question is known to be an American membership-based retail store with branches in China.

This influencer expresses his comfort in the video: “I feel at home every time I come here.” He explores various snack-tasting booths, enjoying meat with his rice and even requesting refills.

Upon entering the supermarket, he immediately visits the egg waffle booth, where he consumes two pieces before tasting other snacks like chocolate and coconut.

Subsequently, he approaches the lamb roll booth, sets his rice container on the counter, and asks an employee to “put some meat in my rice,” to which the employee complies.

Then he visits the pork rib booth, requests a few pieces, and savors them, proclaiming, “This is the most delicious rice with meat and vegetables I’ve ever had.”

As a final touch, he helped himself to some fruit and remarked, “I thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. I’ll come back.”

Online reactions to the video have been mixed. Some commented that while his behavior may appear unsightly, he did not technically break any rules, such as offering free samples to allow customers to taste the products. However, others criticized him, labeling him greedy for minor advantages and suggesting that bringing rice to a tasting event was excessive.
