The story of a woman who revealed she’s been married to a man 28 years older than her for eight years has drawn sympathy.

The story of 33-year-old Zhou Yan (alias) was posted on the website Sinchew. Zhou Yan, who grew up in a wealthy family and attended a university in Chongqing, met a man named Zheng Ke (alias) through a dating app ten years ago.

After a few months of getting to know 51-year-old businessman Zheng Ke, who is involved in real estate development, wine, and mining industries, Zhou Yan quickly progressed in their relationship and decided to marry Zheng Ke, who is 28 years older than her. Zhou Yan decided to register their marriage, but at the time, Zheng Ke was too busy with his business and didn’t have time to register the marriage himself. Instead, he brought a marriage certificate to Zhou Yan, saying he had registered their marriage with the help of someone who manages his business.

After that, Zhou Yan lived with Zheng Ke for eight years and had eight children, five boys and three girls, through a surrogate mother in the United States.

Zhou Yan lived in a villa in Yubei District, Chongqing, raising eight children with a nanny.

“Over the past eight years, we have raised eight children, five boys and three girls. The oldest child is four and a half years old this year, and the youngest is two and a half,” Zhou Yan said, adding, “We originally planned to have twelve children.”

However, one day in 2023, Zheng Ke had a car accident. The car was confiscated for further investigation, and during this process, Zhou Yan accidentally discovered that her husband already had a family. The vehicle was registered in the name of another wife of Zheng Ke. She was Zheng Ke’s legal wife and had already filed a lawsuit against Zhou Yan.

It turned out that Zheng Ke had a wife living in Canada, and they had grown-up children.

When Zhou Yan, who had learned all the facts, asked Zheng Ke for an explanation, he stopped all the payments he had been making for her monthly living expenses, and now Zhou Yan is taking care of eight children by herself.
