Two girls nearly died in separate incidents due to hair claw clips. Claw clips are a common accessory for people with long hair, and while they may seem harmless, they can unexpectedly turn into lethal weapons.

According to recent reports from Beijing, a woman suffered severe injuries in a traffic accident due to her hair claw clip. Medical staff at the Yiwu Fire Rescue Command Center Hospital shared that a claw clip pieced the back of a woman’s head in a traffic accident. Scissors and other tools were used to remove the broken claw clips from the woman’s head.

Many people online surfaced with similar stories following the report.

One of the stories was a claw clip that impaled the back of a mother’s head after she fell while holding a child.

Rescue workers issued a report in response to the multiple accidents, warning about the dangers associated with a commonly used hair accessory.

According to the report, hair claw clips are usually placed in the middle of the back of the head, a vulnerable area with little tissue covering it.

The back of the head is particularly vulnerable to injury, especially in accidents. To minimize risk, opting for clips that are not made of metal is safer, as these can exacerbate injuries. It’s also advisable to avoid wearing clips while driving, riding, working out, or in environments where slipping is likely.
