A famous 47-year-old Japanese actor shocked the public by revealing that he lost 16 kg in just five months.

Japanese actor Kaneko Ken posted photos on his social media account. He shared before-and-after photos of his 16 kg (35 lbs) weight loss, which he achieved in preparation for a bodybuilding competition.

Kaneko, also active as a bodybuilder, stated, “This time, I was on a diet to lose 16 kg from 85 kg, over five months,” and shared comparison photos from the front, sides, and back.

He expressed, “It has been a long time since I last dieted, and it was quite challenging. I realized that I’m not the same as when I was younger. My basal metabolic rate has decreased, and I couldn’t lose weight without incorporating cardio exercises early on.”

He detailed his diet regimen: “Each morning, I’d start with a walk, followed by a gym session, sauna time, and half-body baths. The real challenge was losing 100-200 grams every day, which proved to be quite difficult.”

He added, “There were often plateaus, but I managed to get through them. The toughest periods were the first and last three weeks. Everyone’s experience with dieting and weight loss is different, so I recommend finding a method that works best for you and minimizes stress.”
